Warnings are no longer of value. We reside in a reality where patriots are no longer face-to-face with “democracy.” Rather, they are confronted to the ugly underbelly of the United States of America. A surveillance state sold by the elite and bought by its citizens as the “land of the free.” But as we rely on the pendulum of politics to shift from right to left, the clicking of this metal object no longer makes sense.

As we, Americans, expect to have freedom enveloping us as abundantly as the air we breathe, Washington and the elite of our nation have turned to deception - selling us “democracy” in a gift-wrapped package. Alas, we never truly stop to read the labels on these so-called gifts.

What truly is “democracy”? I believe if we follow the textbook definition of “democracy”, we might, unfortunately, realize that the country we so proudly stand by does not stand by us.

Or perhaps “democracy” in itself is beyond reach.
However, “Freedom”, “Rights” and “Elections” silence us from contemplating.

America poises itself as being able to withstand all assaults on its “democracy” - a position people believe patriotic. However, the Founders of our nation would most definitely not have considered this attitude American or patriotic. To them, “democracy” was difficult, and assaults on it were perpetual.

We have become lazy.

Reliant on a system that, in its essence, is so incredibly fragile. America has not survived attacks on “democracy.” It has fallen, the same as everyone else.

Obituaries to American Democracy is a collection that confronts the collapse of the American political system through fashion. Revealed in three acts—collapse, deconstruction, and rebirth—it explores the suffocation of the working class, the unraveling of elite power structures, and the urgent need to rebuild from the ground up. Through theatrical volumes and historically significant materials, the collection becomes a medium for protest, urging individuals to see fashion not just as clothing, but as a tool for political resistance and collective awakening.
